Remember that 80s movie where Kevin Costner plays a farmer that hears a voice say, “Build it and they will come,” (or something like that)? He ends up building a baseball field in a cornfield and the ghosts of famous baseball players appear and play a game of ball.
This is what always pops into my mind when I hear coaches telling clients to build funnels and it will fix all their client getting problems.
Uh, yeah, it will but your funnel is NOT Field of Dreams.
You don’t just build it and magically get packed out with clients and backstroking through Benjamins.
Sure, there are anomalies but 99% of the time those high converting funnels took a lot of trial and error.
In marketing speak, we call it split testing.
It’s when you test more than one version of your landing page to increase conversions, or optins.
You test one variable at a time, run traffic to two or more versions of your page and pick the one with the best conversion rate – and you do this until you’re happy with your conversion rate.
… to name a few.
